Came here on a Friday evening for delicious dumplings for the whole family. We went the safe route and had the chicken & mushrooms, vegetables and shrimp. They came fast and fresh, tasted delicious and were reasonably priced. Note to management: The bathroom needs a little care and it would be great if cleaning products wouldn't be stored in plain site.

Went to Mom Dumpling around 5PM on a Sunday with a party of 2 and it wasn't busy at all! We were quickly seated and we ordered 3 dishes. * House Chow Mein 5/5: It was so tasty. Probably some of the best chow mein I've ever had. Perfect amount of sauce and was a great portion for two people. I would recommend ordering more than one if you have a larger party. * Beef Rolls 4.5/5: Very refreshing because they are served more room temperature-cold. Mm the hoisin sauce (I think) and cold vegetables made me feel like I was eating peking duck!! A little oily though, but still very good and I would order it again. * Fried Xiao Long Bao 3.5/5: Good, but nothing special. The broth was just okay, but the xiao long bao was cooked very well overall (perfect crunch on the fried part, and tender juicy filling). I just feel like there are better xiao long bao out there. Overall great service and food!! I do think it leans a little more expensive for the entrees in terms of Chinese restaurant portions, but was definitely worth it because of how yummy it was!! Only downside was that they didn't have 韭菜盒子 (chive pockets) when we went. I think you have to get there pretty early to snag some :-( Will be coming back to munch!

We came here to try their bao's because my kids love XLB and Pork Bao. It was nice to find another good place for Bao and other Asian delicacies in Pleasanton. Service was fast. Appreciate how helpful the server was since it was our first time there. It's a no frills mom and pop shop. I like the open layout. The food was great. I especially liked the cucumber salad. It had a good serving of garlic in it. It was a good-sized appetizer. My son and daughter loved the XLB. The soup inside was tasty. The XLB skin was just right: not too thin or thick. My son also enjoyed the beef noodle soup. Would love to go back to try more dishes.

Hubby and I had a craving for dumplings so we decided to check this place out. They have an assortment of Steamed and Pan Fried dumplings along with some Noodle/Rice, Hot Dishes etc. Their menu also offered Frozen dumplings which is a nice option as I think dumplings are best eaten on site. We ordered the House Special Pork XLB, Crab and Pork XLB, House Special Pork Pan Fried Bao, and Green Onion Pancake. Their XLBs had a nice amount of soup and protein. We enjoyed them all including the Bao. Be careful when you eat them as as one squirted back at my husband. The pancake was flaky, chewy, and tasty. Tea is extra so we opted for water. Service was quick and efficient. It is not a big place. We noticed parties of 6 and 7 came flowing in. If you have a big party, you need to time it right otherwise it could be a wait.

Mom Dumpling open's in Yat Sing space. infrastructure similar, decor upgraded. history of sheng jian bao on left wall. old Yat Sing reviews are embedd with newer Mom Dumpling reviews. offerings: steamed, pan fried, small plates, hot dish, soup, noodle, tea, rice, frozen dumplings: northern Chinese entrees. eats: spicy pork xiao long bao ( 6/13.99) medium spicy, can be customized. -slightly spicy hot sauce inside with tasty pork filling/soup. no msg tasted. -got a steamed dumpling (looking like potstickers) and steamed xiao long bao served by mistake.. -hot sauce available on table, same as in bottle?, entree gimmicky braised beef brisket noodle (14.99) medium spicy -tasty beef broth with slight hotness but not numbing hot sauce. -a few crunchy bok choy stems, not a lot of regular slurping noodles. -very tender beef brisket, almost melt in mouth quality. average value. steamed xiao long bao (6/11.99) -got served this by mistake, ate one before mistake was disclosed. -got talked into buying it with assurance it can be easily microwaved. -when XLB was bagged, was told it had to be re-steamed. -doesn't travel well, it cooled after 1/2 hour. ate it immediately when home. 4ish stars. average quantity, good quality. pricey. doubtful repeat. not a great value. food very tasty. take outs: -single waitress wasn't efficient with time management handling just a few tables. got 2 dishes served to me by mistake. actually agreed to paid for one when told it was easy to reheat. Looking for XLB and Shēng jiān bāo made with good ingredients, terrific broth, and cooked just right? This is it! Discovered this little gem of a family run restaurant on Christmas day. They were open regular hours! XLB was handmade with a thinly rolled wrapper and twisted just right, not to doughy even on the top twist! These were steamed to perfection, not too soft, and filled with delicious soup. Served with ginger cider vinegar. Eating a broth-dumpling- pro tip: Put the soup dumpling onto the spoon, don't bite it, but rather nibble, a tiny hole at the top using very little pressure, otherwise you'll have a soup explosion on yourself or your neighbor. Placing the XLB on the spoon has a purpose - to catch the yummy broth so that you don't lose it onto your plate when you start to eat it. Add a little vinegar, and when your dumpling is at the right temperature, safe for eating without burning your tongue, enjoy the lovely doughy, soupy, meaty, treat! (by comparison, some other restaurant XLB fillings are made with more fatty pork, and upon cooking the broth inside the dumpling becomes greasy, giving it an undesirable mouth feel... but not here!) - but I digress... For our veggie, we opted for a fresh bok choy with garlic. If you aren't familiar with this aspect of authentic Chinese restaurants, know that you can always ask them for a fresh vegetable dish - qīn chǎo cài. It's not normally listed on the menu, but if you ask, they will offer you a few vegetable options that they can stir fry with garlic or another seasoning style for you. For my mom and I we ordered 1 pork XLB, 1 Shēng jiān bāo, and one qīn chǎo cài (bok choy) and it was the perfect amount for us two. We ask for hot water as our beverage, which was free, but note that hot tea has an extra charge here. We opted for a dessert item, custard, buns, four small steamed buns in one order. A bit small, but since we were celebrating New Year's Day, the symbolism was worth it. Note that this is a liquidy center type not the firm custard center type of bun. The owner of the restaurant took our order and was very kind. I think this place is also popular with to go orders. You can also buy the dumplings packaged frozen to take home and cook.
